Truly tiny ammonite, Bavaria, Germany

SKU: 8130

A really tiny ammonite from Bavaria, Germany.  This specimen still has a partial white coloured coating to it, perhaps a remnant of its original shell.  Discreetly attached to an "old gold" coloured base.  I think that this fossil will work in both 1:12 and 1:24 settings.

Ammonites are extinct relatives of modern day nautiloids and squid. The largest known ammonite in the world would have been 8 1/2 feet (2.59 metres) across if it were complete.

1/4 inch (0.6 cm) wide, just under 3/16 inch (0.5 cm) deep and 5/16 inch (0.8 cm) tall.
