Multiple layers of cream laces, some very carefully pleated, along with dusty pink silk ribbon trim, bows and silk roses. The dress features a bustle at the back, a fashion that was popular in the 1870s and 1880s. The lace patterns have been very carefully used to design this dress. The dress is glued rather than stitched and is on a gold dress form. There is no mark on this piece but Karen Benson herself has contacted me and identified it.
