Barry Dawson's Classic carpets were hand loomed using traditional carpet weaving techniques by artisans in India, so they have a proper pile. They came in two main knot counts: 600 or 1300 knots per square inch, although there are some higher and lower counts too. The two rugs that I have both have 1300 - 1400 knots per square inch. I've included photos of the back with a ruler so that you can count for yourself if you wish!
I have two of these rugs available, different sizes and complementary but different patterns and colours. I've included two photos at the end showing them side by side so that you can see the difference in colours, with the right hand one turned both ways as the nap to the pile creates slightly different colours from each angle of looking at it.
The pile is silk; I'm not sure what the warp (and thus the fringe) is made from, possible silk, maybe cotton. The edges are very neatly bound. These carpets lie perfectly flat and although some people think that they are a little thick, I can't see how you'd get them thinner. They really are luxurious!
Please be aware that although I use daylight photographic lights, the colours and brightness that you see on your screen may be different from the actual colours.
This listing is for the smaller of the two. They are priced by the number of knots.
1:12 scale: 5 3/8 inches (13.7 cm) by 3 1/8 inches (7.9 cm) including fringes.
