$10.00

SKU: 8742

A segment of fossilized crinoid stem, mounted on polished black onyx base.

Crinoids, or sea lilies, flourished millions of years ago. A few species still survive today
deep in the oceans. Their stems are made up of a series of stacked discs, varying in exact design by species.  Most are circular in cross-section but this one has a lovely five point star shape so is known as a pentacrinites species. The detail on it is excellent..

5/16 inch (0.8 cm) wide, 1/4 inch (0.6 cm) deep and just under 3/8 inch (0.95 cm) tall.
