Real mosasaur tooth, extinct marine reptile. Sold individually

$15.00

SKU: 9493

Your choice of a genuine tooth from a mosasaur, an extinct carnivorous marine reptile (not a dinosaur).  There were many species, ranging in size from about dolphin size on up to around 30 feet (9 metres) in length.  They lived in the Cretaceous Period, 145.5 million to 65.5 million years ago, the same time period as ichthyosaurs and plesiosaurs.

You can still clearly see, and feel, the edges of these teeth.  The specimens come from Morocco.  They are discreetly glued to a custom wood.  The right hand tooth has a small area at the base at the back where the fossil has chipped; you can see this in the second photo.

Left: 5/8 inch (1.6 cm) wide, 7/16 inch (1.1 cm) deep, 7/8 inch (2.2 cm) tall.

Right: 1/2 inch (1.3 cm) wide and deep, 5/8 inch (1.6 cm) tall.
