A simple country dough box made by Carl Sachs in 1979. The bread dough was sometimes made in the box itself. When kneaded sufficiently the dough was left in the covered box in a warm place to proof and rise prior to being baked. This example is basic, as they usually were; the box itself is slightly off-centre on the base, which I imagine would have happened in real life too on occasion as these were probably home made pieces.
2 11/16 inches (6.8 cm) wide, 1 9/16 inches (4.0 cm) deep and 2 1/4 inches (5.7 cm) tall.
