Francis Whittemore blue glass tazza or compote, IGMA Fellow

Francis Whittemore blue and blue and white blown glass tazza or compote.  Whittemore used actual coloured glass, where the colour is mixed throughout the glass rather than an applied surface coating, so occasionally there is a little inconsistency/swirling in the colours of the glass, a result of his technique rather than a flaw.

Although none of the glassware is signed, these designs perfectly match those in Whittemore's catalogue, as does the perfection of the work.  Francis attained Fellow status with the International Guild of Miniature Artisans (IGMA).

Right, tazza or compote.  3/4 inch (1.9 cm) diameter, 9/16 inch (1.4 cm) tall.
