Amethyst crystals, February birthstone

A cluster of naturally coloured purple amethyst points with some white calcite "frosting" between some of the crystals. The contrast between the purple and white actually shows better by eye than in my photographs. This specimen is from Piedras Parado, Las Vigas, Veracruz, Mexico. It is secured to a wooden base.  Amethyst is a February birthstone.

1 1/16 inches (2.7 cm) wide, 13/16 inch (2.0 cm) deep and 11/16 inch (1.75 cm) tall.
