A perfect example of the craft of Geoffrey Wonnacott!  This is a replica of a desk made for the Prince Regent (later King George IV) for his residence at Carlton House, London, in the early part of the 19th century.  It features various woods, brass hardware, and multiple curves, which I think are much harder to do than straight lines!

All the drawers and doors open.  The drawers are dovetailed and each one is crafted individually for its place in the cabinet.  They are marked on the back so that they can be replaced correctly if they are removed (T/L for top left, M/R for middle right for example).  Just another thoughtful detail.  The front drawers have cross-banding veneer borders.  The curved doors of the corner cubbies are super.

There are two inlaid intarsia floral medallions, which use tiny pieces of different coloured woods to make the design.  The casters work, both rotating and swivelling.  The desk is clearly marked on the underside with a wooden plaque with Geoff's name, the date of 9/92 and his signature Union Jack flag.

The only flaw that I see is a small mark on the outside left side of the desk, which you can see if you look carefully at the fifth photo.

5 3/8 inches (13.7 cm) long, 2 1/2 inches (6.4 cm) deep and 3 3/8 inches (8.6 cm) tall.
